What happened? And how did you deal with it?

Is this considered harassment in the workplace?

My sister who is not religious, works for a small company owned by people that are Jewish. She said “I swear to God” when starting a sentence, and they scolded her for swearing in the workplace. They also scolded her once for not standing when a Rabbi walked in; even though they never told her she was supposed to stand. There have been many other things like this as well. I know there is such a thing as being harassed for religious beliefs, so could this also be considered harassment?

Hostile Workplace (in Colorado)?

What would be considered a hostile work place? Currently there are several things I suspect would be considered hostile but am not certain: Work-related emails are deleted without being read, resulting in my not being able to do my job. Reporting to management has resulted in nothing. I am restricted from internet use though no one else is. I am the only person not allowed to have my personal cell phone on during the work day. The boss told me he thinks I am “two clicks away from the intelligence of a stone”.

The primary problem I have with this is that I am being singled out even though I have been told other employees are doing the same things, and far more than I ever did- I actually can prove I do more work, and take more calls, than my co-workers, but I am the one who causes all the problems. It is very frustrating.

Can these situations be considered hostile and what would my options be when considering filing suit for hostile workplace?

Thanks.

what the consequences for sexual harassment in the workplace? and do they investigate the reason of why the person committed the act of sexual harassment?
will they fire? or repreimand?

During the time I was in Philippines I knew some staff ( employees) were forced not by choice to have a sexual relationship with their bosses or to high ranking officers else they will be kick out & out of their jobs . They end up like an occasional / part time mistress of these ill sickening dirty old men with grown up children. Samething with male staff having an affair with midlife crisis female bosses.

Do you think law in sexual harassment in the workplace should be implemented to protect these powerless staff ?

A male co-worker of mine gets visibly uncomfortable when a female member of staff overtly flirts with him. He seems so afraid of her that he never wants to be alone with her.

How do men handle situations like this in the workplace? Do you file a sexual harassment report with HR?

New boss has excluded me from what would typically be my duties. I am not included in meetings or changes to products that I typically manage. I am a 50 year old female and fear that I am going to be let go. I have been with the company for more than 6 years with excellent performance reviews.

We are both supervisors but her job is threatened by me because I do my job correctly. She talks shit about every other employee to everyone. She is loud and takes over all the meeting time so no one else has a chance to speak. She makes people call out sick with migraines and makes the workplace stressful. No one wants to work wit her. She gives coworkers dirty looks and is rude to everyone. What would be the right thing to do? Go to superior and complain of harrassment?

Is this considered Hostile workplace?

Myself and a female coworker worked many sales together. When the owner of the company began an affair while married to others, this coworker has slowly worked her ranks up to President of our company. My boss constantly berated me in fron of others for not being a “great employee” like my co-worker is. They have since divorced and now live together. I recently resigned due to the constant belittling I would hear. Please tell me is this is considered hostile?

I finally found my dream job, but there’s a hitch: two students continually come into my office screaming and yelling about my department’s policies. They’ve even tried to follow me home. My campus president spoke with them about it, but decided that their behavior didn’t warrant banning them from my department. She stated that it wasn’t unlawful harassment unless they produced a weapon or became physically violent. I feel that it shouldn’t be allowed to escalate to that stage. Help!
