Has anyone else noticed the unfair dismissal of teams based on who they have played going on in the NFL?
I’m not saying there’s no merit to the concept that strength of schedule can indicate how good a team really is. But everyone is so hyping the Pats and their opponents thru week 5 have a combined record of 7-16. Yet other teams are being dismissed based on who they have played. Shouldn’t they play someone over .500 and win before everyone starts to crown them?
I realize strength of schedule has nothing to do with NFL rankings at the end of the season, I’m only talking about current fan and media hype. But when it comes to media power rankings and so forth, it should be a consideration. And to dominate teams that are in the bottom 15 of the league isn’t all that great of an achievement in my opinion. I’m no fool, and I look at stats, I do my homework. I’m not looking for someone to set me straight, I’m seeking other’s personal opinions based on their own knowledge rather than media and fan hype. I’m also not looking to take anything away from the Pats. It’s just that they are being crowned as maybe the best team ever and it’s only week 5, whereas other teams are being dismissed because they “haven’t played anyone” . That’s my point.
AND I don’t care how many superbowls they won in other years, that’s not what I’m talking about. Stop using what a team has done in the past to crown them. If you do that then that must mean the late 90s cowboys teams must have been great cuz they won all sorts of superbowls with the same core players a few years earlier. Live in the now.

Furloughs on the table for Pasco County school employees
By Jeffrey S. Solochek, Times Staff Writer Wednesday, July 13, 2011 LAND O’LAKES — A faceoff over furloughs is brewing for Pasco County’s largest employer. Pasco School Board members want to use mandatory unpaid leave to save as much as $8 million in spending, as they seek to slash general operations by $54 million or so. And they’d like to get the United School Employees of Pasco to agree to …

UNFAIR DISMISSAL:- What needs to be considered?
Besides my loss of wages and my pension being disabled, what else should be considered in a case for unfair dismissal. I have only found one temporary job on a 2 month contract on half of my normal salary.
Who knows the California Labor Laws/FMLA/Worker’s Comp?
Ok so I got injured at my previous job, which resulted in them firing me so I opened a lawsuit against this VERY famous company. So as required by my lawyer I see a regular dr and a psych dr each once a month. Yesterday I saw my regular dr and he told me my injury has resulted in a condition in my hand that I recieved shots for. My dr put me on work restriction( this is at my NEW job, not the one I got injured at). The order restricts use of my right hand. The only thing that prevents me from doing is cleaning and filling propane tanks. Other than that I am able to perform all other aspects of my job. My manager is basically telling me that I will not be recieving any shifts because I can’t fill propane tanks and I am the only one that work those shifts( propane stops at 6pm and there is a 7pm to midnight shift everyday that she can schedule me) I can’t really find any info on this specific situation. All I have found is that my employer has to make reasonable accommodations for me, or I go on disability which I may or not be paid for. I can’t afford to not be paid, I can do my job but it seems like my manager is just trying to be mean. Help?
Florida law on “at will” employment exceptions if any?
I live in Florida, I am aware it is an at will employment state. I am the understanding that an employer can terminate you for any or no reason, same for the employee.
However, I would like to know that IF that company has written guidelines the reasons that I was terminated. I signed a paper back in December that my production was a low and that they would review it again in 3 MONTHS. I was also terminated for attendance.. again there is a definite attendance policy previous and a new one to soon be announced.. so at the time of my termination i was in violation of either.
one other fact, my attendance was low. I was on FMLA intermitten leave which stated for fmla reasons that i missed work or left early they were in now way to count against ANY attendance. period.
I am wondering since they terminated me on “specific” reasons, do they need to proof to back that up.
also they backdated my termination date by two days before I was fired, due to me calling out sick the previous 2 days on illness related issues, I had plenty of sick and vaction time to use.
