Workplace Harassment – GDS – Republic Services


My supervisor and coworker participated in harassment making GDS a hostile workplace. Jim O’Connor at Republic Services recently announced their merger was intended to make their company stronger, more efficient and a positive work environment as an employee, this was not true in my case. I suffered severe emotional distress because of the harassment and inappropriate behavior conducted by more than one employee of Republic Services. There were also sexual connotations conveyed about a female employee and pornographic magazines left around the workplace.

Have you experienced any form of sexual harassment in the workplace?

Did you address the issue with the harasser?

Did you feel flattered by the attention?

Were you bothered by the attention?

Obama made the gesture that affirmative action based on race would be no longer be necessary under his administration.

Concessions also should be made by this woman should she be elected. Since sexual harassment is really about power and discrimination (against women) and if we end up with a woman VP, I argue they would no longer be necessary.

Plus, I should be allowed to catch a feel here and there during a long work day.

Yes they are legitimate concerns, witnessed by more than 2 employees, and we’re worried that the company while they say will ” protect ” the employees, in the end will retaliate. Although the initial complaints will, or are going to be, anonymously reported.
